Marco Garcia has joined Suniva as its chief commercial officer and will lead worldwide sales efforts for the company. He comes to the crystalline-silicon solar cell manufacturer’s executive management team from Suntech America, where he served as VP of commercial/utility division sales. Prior to working for Suntech, Garcia was director of sales, Europe, for PowerLight Systems.
“As a seasoned veteran of the PV industry, Marco brings invaluable experience to lead our sales growth throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. Marco joins one of the industry’s most experienced executive teams,” said Suniva CEO John Baumstark. “With the recent and planned expansions of our sales team, Suniva is well primed to continue its worldwide delivery of high-efficiency solar cells and high power-density modules at an affordable cost.”
Garcia joins Suniva with seven years of solar PV project development and sales experience. He has developed and closed more than 130MW of PV projects in the United States and Europe, including some of the largest public and private sector systems in the United States. He has 18 years of sales leadership and operations experience living in Latin America, Europe, and the United States.
“I’m thrilled to be joining one of the world’s most qualified solar teams during its next stage of expansion, and I am certain that the global PV market will welcome a high-efficiency, low-cost American product,” the new CCO said.
