During a recent visit from Tianwei SolarFilms' Lan Tao, vice president, and Mickey Liu, director of sales and marketing, to Sunvalley Solar, the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the formation of a strategic partnership in the U.S. that would augment the existing partnership the companies currently share. Furthermore, Tianwei and Sunvalley discussed short and long-term future plans, which include a possible U.S.-based manufacturing of solar package solutions and a green house plan for farmers.
Both companies share a mutual interest to provide solar power system projects with thin-film technology, solar installation packages, greenhouse design and integration, solar system technical support and service and a strong desire to manufacture their solar equipment in the U.S. By signing an MOU, Sunvalley and Tianwei SolarFilms look to find more prospects for the expansion of their business in solar power systems design, installation and procurement and to develop their mutual interest for long-term plans in possible joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, local manufacturing and logistics management.
Tianwei SolarFilms will continue to provide Sunvalley with their amorphous-silicon thin-film package solutions with technical and marketing support, while Sunvalley will progress its thin-film solar system projects by using Tianwei’s thin-film package solutions and providing pre- and post-sale services to end customers. Additionally, Tianwei and Sunvalley are looking for opportunities to work together in the development of greenhouse projects for the U.S. market. In such projects, Tianwei SolarFilms would provide the semi-transparent panels while Sunvalley would manage the market surveys, project development and implementation.
Both Tianwei SolarFilms and Sunvalley Solar note that their long-term partnership is open for discussion and further advancement based on their shared interests.
