systaic, integrated solar company, is purchasing the business operations of Solarwatt Cells, wholly owned subsidiary of Solarwatt AG in Dresden. The sale includes 25MW of capacity and a workforce of 54.
This acquisition secures systaic substantial cost-reduction potential in the automotive and energy roof system sectors as well as supply and delivery of ‘made in Germany’ solar cells. The company’s integrated PV roof systems are expected to become more widely adopted with the new focus on BIPV in Europe.
“In its solar system products systaic AG is not focusing on standard modules and cells. It is a developer and manufacturer of specialised integration solutions for photovoltaic products in buildings and vehicles,” explains Michael Pack, CEO of systaic AG.
This purchase will also enable systaic to cut its own annual production costs by several million euros.
