T-Solar Group, a utility-scale PV project developer based in Spain and a subsidiary of Isolux Infrastructure, is continuing to expand its international footprint and has announced plans for 55MW of contracted projects in the US and Puerto Rico.
The US project will be located in El Centro, California, and is projected to generate 52GWh of electricity every year. The Puerto Rican plant is located in San Germán and is estimated to generate 48GWh per annum. The two projects require a total investment of US$160 million and are scheduled to come online in the second half of 2013.
The company has been pushing its international expansion plan recently. It is due to connect two PV plants currently under construction in Peru. The plants will have a total PV capacity of 44MW and will represent, the company claims, the first large-scale PV projects in Latin America when complete.
T-Solar is also further stamping its mark in the Indian solar industry with plans to connect a 12.3MW plant in Gujarat by the end of 2012. At present, the company operates a 5MW PV plant in the state of Rajasthan in the country.
