Industry sources in Taiwan have reported that three resident silicon cell manufacturers, Motech, E-Ton and Neo Solar have each signed a MOU with Canadian solar for 40MWp, 60MWp and 60MWp, respectively, according to DigiTimes.
Canadian Solar now has a total of seven wholly owned subsidiaries in China and has made its presence known in Taiwan since November 9. The company now runs it’s China-based procurement and business delegation from the Jiangsu Province.
Motech, E-Ton and Neo Solar have indirectly confirmed the MOU signing, but indicated the striking of any deals will depend on market conditions in 2010, which is when the three companies will commence supply. Motech has also signed a MOU with Jiangsu Sainty International Group, import/export business group also in Jiangsu. This deal stipulates the supply of 30MWp of solar cells, with shipments in the same year.
