A customized, laminated-glass BIPV dedicated manufacturing plant will be established in a new joint venture between Tenesol and AGC Glass Europe. The partners claim that AGC Vertal Sud-Est plant in Lyon, France, will from next year offer advanced crystalline BIPV modules that will feature both solar thermal properties and solar power. Targeted markets include façades, glass roofs, and sunshades.
“AGC is dedicated to manufacturing glass products that help people to live more comfortably while reducing or generating energy,“ says Jean-Luc Batkin, VP, solar and processed Glass of AGC Glass Europe. “BIPV had to enter our product range. To do so, it was essential to find a partner with the right expertise in PV modules and with the same commitment to product quality, customer satisfaction and environmental care.”
Benoit Rolland, managing director of Tenesol, said: “To remain competitive in the crowded solar market, we continually improve our products and services through innovation and development. Joining with AGC increases our product offering and shows our commitment to delivering flexible PV solutions that answer specific client needs.”
Tenesol has been involved in developing a wide range of crystalline-based BIPV projects in the past.
