Increased demand, especially in its key markets, Tenesol is expanding module production 60% to 170MW (800,000 modules) combined annual production at its module plants in Toulouse, France and Cape Town in South Africa. The company said production capacity currently stood at 105MW. Tenesol had revenue of €249 million in 2009, and increase of 29% over the previous year. The company is also a PV installer and project developer.
Tenesol said that its Toulouse facility would increase production capacity to 85MW through the installation of a fourth production line. New equipment will include a Tabber/Stringer machine as well as lamination tool for EVA (Ethylene vinyl acetate) coating.
The increase in production capacity means the Toulouse site will now operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with a further 20 jobs created. The company employs 150 in Toulouse.
Capacity at its Cape Town facility will rise from 55MW to 85MW through the installation of two new Tabber/Stringer machines and employs 230.
