Thomas Rohrs has been appointed by Skyline Solar as the new company CEO and as a member of the company’s board of directors. Bob MacDonald (pictured), Skyline’s co-founder and former CEO, will now serve as the CTO. Rohrs has over 30 years of technology executive management experience, including the past thirteen years as an executive, board member and advisor for companies in the semiconductor, renewable and solar energy industries.
“The Nipton installation completed the first phase of Skyline Solar’s development as a proven player in the commercial, government and utility-scale solar markets,” said Bob MacDonald, CTO and co-founder of Skyline Solar. “With the addition of Tom and his experience in large-scale technology companies, we can focus on bringing Skyline Solar HGS to more markets, more regions and more customers around the world, while continuing to innovate around system design and architecture. I am excited to work closely with Tom and the rest of the management team to scale up Skyline Solar.”
Rohrs has been an executive at companies such as Applied Materials, Silicon Graphics and HP. He was most recently chairman and CEO of Electroglas and previously worked as an advisor and board member to numerous companies in the semiconductor, healthcare and energy markets.
