PV manufacturing process inspection specialist, ACT Aurora Control Technologies has won two supply contracts with PV equipment supplier SEMCO Engineering for its Decima inline measurement system used to monitor solar cell emitter formation.
The orders from SEMCO Engineering are for inline manufacturing equipment to be supplied to two unidentified solar cell producers.
“SEMCO chose Aurora’s products for integration into our state-of-the-art emitter formation product line because of their proven ability to accurately and consistently measure PV wafers at full production speed of 2500 wafers/hour,” said Claude Giral, SEMCO’s PV Product Director. “The Aurora system uniquely enables our customers to fully visualize the superior sheet resistance uniformity produced by our LYDOP and LYTOX series furnaces”.
These orders include new Decima technology that is said to measure three lanes across every wafer after the annealing or diffusion furnace step, at full production rates. Aurora’s Veritas software is being used to display the resultant emitter profiles in three dimensions of each wafer, which compares them with correct specifications allowing operators to adjust and optimize the furnace for higher yield of top quality cells.
