PV module inspection systems specialist, Pi4 said it received multiple orders for electroluminescence (EL) testers from customers in Mexico, India, France and South Africa.
The company noted that a single order for six fully automated EL inspection systems had been won with an unnamed PV module manufacturer in Mexico.
Thomas Manke, head of solar department at pi4 said: “Our EL systems have convinced customers with the accuracy of automated inspection of multicrystalline solar cells but especially with new features like Power Loss Estimation. After the severe crisis in the solar industry and the outsourcing of production from Germany, we are now operating on a global scale.”
According to pi4, its ‘Power Loss Estimation’ technology was developed in-house and provides a prediction of power loss for solar cells and modules based on already existing defects such as micro cracks.
