US residential solar installer Vivint Solar will expand its presence in northern California with a series of recruitment events planned.
The new sales and installation offices will open during the next two months in Berkeley, San Jose, San Luis Obispo and Palo Alto.
Recruitment fairs will take place across the north of the state as the company looks to recruit office administrators, permit specialists, sales managers, electrician and site survey managers.
“We are excited to create more solar jobs that enable us to continue offering homeowners an affordable energy alternative to power their homes,” said Paul Dickson, VP of operations. “Our expanded footprint in northern California will create dozens of new job opportunities for employees with diverse skill sets,” he added.
The US has been enjoying a solar jobs boom with a 21.8% annual growth in workforce from November 2013 to November 2014, according to a recent survey.
Residential solar has enjoyed a bumper 2015 so far with more than a billion dollars of financing attracted into the sector in January alone. SolarCity, SunRun and Brite Energy among the chief beneficiaries.
