Taiwanese module manufacturer Winaico has claimed its panels achieved the highest efficiency by cost during trials at the Desert Knowledge Australia Solar Centre (DKASC).
A number of modules from many different manufacturers are compared in the extreme conditions at the Alice Springs facility in the Australian outback.
DKASC provides live, real-time data on the output of the installed modules which include thin-film and crystalline panels from manufacturers including Q-Cells, Sanyo, REC and Trina.
“That the Winaico solar panels are here at the front does not surprise us. Finally, our modules have been proven to bring more power than actually on the nameplate,” said Sasha Rossman, vice president of global sales.
The company claims its recent independent tests at DKASC have generated some of the best results with its modules 12% more cost efficient than its competitors.
Winaico claims its fully automated production line, which includes several tests, such as the electro-luminescence test, ensure high standards among its products.
