Module manufacturer, Yingli Green announced its subsidiary in Singapore is to supply 12MW of modules to a solar company in Malaysia.
The modules are to be used by Malaysian renewable energy services company, Gading Kencana.
Yingli’s ‘Panda’ modules are to be used for a 5.9 hectare, 8MW solar farm in Malacca, Malaysia. Already 30,000 modules have been delivered to generate an estimated 11kWh of clean energy a year.
The remaining modules are to be used for residential projects across Malaysia.
“Malaysia has high solar generating potential throughout the year, so cooperating with companies like Yingli to grow our country's solar PV capacity makes good economic sense,” said Dato Guntor Tobeng, managing director of Gading Kencana.
Angie Koh, business development director of Yingli Singapore said the collaboration will assist Yingli in meeting clean energy targets in Malaysia and ”solidify the company's leadership position in Southeast Asia”.
