Chinese manufacturer Yingli Green is to supply 10% – up to 288MW – of modules under the latest round of the Chinese government’s Golden Sun programme.
China’s Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Science and Technology and national Energy Administration have jointly approved 2,835MW of projects under Golden Sun, the country’s solar subsidy programme.
Yingli, which had already been chosen as a main supplier for Golden Sun, said it would supply up to 288MW of the latest round.
Since 2009, said it had, in aggregate, supplied modules to approximately one quarter of the PV projects under the programme.
Liansheng Miao, Yingli Green’s Chairman and CEO, said: “The acceleration of the Golden Sun programme [has] clearly demonstrated China’s strong determination of promoting solar applications. With these policies in place, we believe that the China PV market will achieve a faster and healthier growth.”
