JinkoSolar has announced that it has connected China Guangdong Nuclear Solar Energy Development’s 18MW PV power plant to China’s grid. The plant, located in Dunhuang, Gansu Province in west China, consists of 76,000 of JinkoSolar’s modules on a plot area of 400,000m2.
The 18MW plant brings JinkoSolar’s stake in the energy provision of the Gansu region to 15%. The region is said to be host to over 100MW of planned or completed solar power projects, or just over one eighth of China’s currently installed solar capacity of 768MW.

The company has been expanding aggressively over the past few months, with an eye on new emerging markets, including the US and China. The company also plans to establish an ‘on-the-ground presence’ in Canada and Australia and explore markets such as India and South Africa.
