Japanese engineering company Chiyoda Corporation has announced the construction of a 1.8MW plant in the city of Hokuto in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan.
The plant will utilise 12,000 CIS thin-film PV modules from Solar Frontier on an area of 2,120 square metre and is scheduled for completion in March 2013. The company said it had been appointed by Aikawa Press Industry to build the first private power plant in the city.

Chiyoda and Solar Frontier recently joined Sanko Real Estate to build a 5.2MW PV plant in Ise City, Mie Prefecture.
Financial details are yet to be disclosed.
