Germany registered over 211MW of newly installed PV capacity in February, according to new figures from the German Federal Network Agency.

Although this is a decrease from January when 275MW were added to the German grid, this is a slight increase from the previous February when 200MW were added.

Under recent amendments to Germany’s solar FiT programme, incentives are only granted to the first 10MW of a PV installation. Consequently, the largest PV system registered in February was an 8.2MW solar park installed in the northern state of Brandenburg.

A recent EuPD Research report said Germany may not make as large a contribution to installation figures this year as it did last year. EuPD expects only 3.9GW of new capacity to be installed in the country in 2013.
