Growatt North America has unveiled a new ‘High Frequency Series’ of residential solar PV string inverters as well as its light commercial ‘TL3 Series’ string inverters during SPI 2012. The HF Series inverters are initially offered in 2.0kW, 2.5kW and 3.0kW power classes, while the TL3 Series inverters are initially offered in 10kW, 12kW, 18kW and 20kW power classes.

Problem

Increasingly, installers are required to provide excellent energy-harvest performance and return on investment on a PV installation. Focus is moving towards the BOS related issues and away from the module in deciding system components requirements such as inverter efficiency in MPP tracking and high product reliability rates.

Solution

The HF Series inverters are initially offered in 2.0kW, 2.5kW and 3.0kW power classes. These products provide exceptionally wide input voltage range, galvanic isolation, and freedom from harmonic distortion. The TL3 Series inverters are initially offered in 10kW, 12kW, 18kW and 20kW power classes. These products are dual-input transformerless 3-phase commercial units with 480VAC output. They feature independent MPP tracking and low start-up voltage for longer production days.  These inverters provide RS-485, Wifi, Bluetooth, RF, and Zigbee communications protocol options and an advanced lightning protection module.

Applications

The HF Series inverters are for residential installations while the TL3 Series inverters are used for light commercial markets.

Platform

The HF Series and the TL3 Series inverters from Growatt incorporate the latest advancements in solar PV DC-AC conversion technology, and join the rest of the Growatt inverter product line in providing industry-leading efficiency — up to 97.5% — and some of the lowest cost per watt. Growatt inverters are known for offering a broad feature set, smaller and lighter housings, installation ease and quiet operation.

Availability

The TL3 and HF models are currently in production, with deliveries of the TL3 commencing later in September, while HF models are currently available.
