Hanergy shareholders approve name change

A special meeting of Hanergy shareholders has voted to change the name of the company to Hanergy Thin Film Power Group Limited.

All the shares represented in the vote were in favour of the proposed change.

The company has made a number of project announcements in 2014 and added downstream partnerships in Japan and the US to add to high profile deals with Tesla and IKEA.

Earlier this month the company acquired Alta Devices in a move that opens up the Internet of Things market for the company.

As well as representing the company’s downstream ambitions, a rebrand will also help its consumer facing image.
