European Product and Technical Service Manager, Dr Yi Deng, represented Astronergy at the recently concluded 2024 edition of PV CellTech Europe in Frankfurt. Deng’s presentation to attendees was based on the market having witnessed the emergence and subsequent domination of n-type TOPCon cell technology since the end of 2022, endorsing his company’s decision to focus its efforts on n-type during this period.
“We’ve upgraded our n-type TOPCon technology to its fourth generation, and the Astronergy R&D teams have been working to extract the technology’s full potential,” Deng explained. “We will bring fifth, sixth and seventh generation TOPCon technology to our products and, combined with our cutting-edge manufacturing processes, these will be able to meet the demands of many different application scenarios”.
Astronergy has expanded TOPCon capacity at its 10 manufacturing bases worldwide, with further expansion planned. “To meet the growing demands of the international market, there will be two more manufacturing bases with TOPCon capacity in Turkey and the USA”, Deng continued. “Certainly, these new bases will create local job opportunities and deliver advanced manufacturing technologies to both upstream and downstream partners in these countries.”
On the topic of HJT and BC, Deng stated that Astronergy is also planning to initiate mass production of both when the time is right and customer demand in place.
