Gamesa Electric has announced the signing of an agreement with Australia’s APA to supply its PV 3X series inverters to the Mica Creek solar project that the customer is developing in Queensland.

The scope of the project includes the design, supply and commissioning of 20 units of PV45000 UEP inverters, supplied as 10 units of PVS9000 UEP integrated, fully assembled and factory tested PV power stations.

“We are delighted to be making our Australian debut with a great client like APA,” commented Enrique de la Cruz, Gamesa Electric’s Sales Director for solar and storage. “This project is another example of how competitive the PV 3X series inverters are in large-scale projects. They are inverters with a power of up to 4700 kVA per unit, reaching up to plug and play solutions of 9400 kVA at medium voltage. With such high-power ratings, the number of units can be reduced and the LCoE of a project optimised. Record efficiency levels and low THD are further factors contributing to the excellence of the 3X series solutions.”

“Australia is experiencing a boom in solar and storage projects”, added Franco Compagnoni, solar and storage Sales Director for Australia, “and Gamesa Electric has a product portfolio that is well suited to the characteristics of these projects. The addition of Gamesa Electric’s product offering to our existing Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy office in Sydney has enabled expedient & focused support for our customers.”
