Grand Sunergy has announced the delivery and installation of 5GW of modules for its high-efficiency heterojunction project at the Laizhou HJT dual-carbon industrial park. The project, approved in August 2024, has been recognized as a major initiative in Shandong Province’s 2025 development plan and will be implemented in three phases: 1.25GW in the first, 1.25GW in the second and 2.5GW in the third.
Shandong Province plays a crucial role in Grand Sunergy’s market strategy. In 2024, the company supplied premium PV products for two key projects: the China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN)’s 400MW offshore project in Zhaoyuan, Yantai and the 600MW “Salt-PV Complementary” project in Tushan, Laizhou.
In 2024, the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology released its action plan for the high-quality development of the PV industry in the province. The plan aims to expand Shandong’s PV industry to exceed RMB 30 billion by 2025, achieving large-scale production and application of solar cells with a conversion efficiency of over 25%.
