Huasun Energy has announced the signing of an agreement with Leascend Photovoltaic Technology, whereby the two parties will collaborate on the development of  heterojunction technology. Huasun’s Tommy Xu and Matthew Jin, Senior VP and VP respectively, and Leascend Executive VP Xuan Tang signed the strategic cooperation agreement covering the provision of cells and silicon wafers and future cooperation between the two companies.

The agreement will see Huasun purchase 1GW of high-efficiency HJT cells from Leascend and supply 180 million units of 210 n-type monocrystalline half-cut silicon wafers, with both parties jointly promoting the widespread application of HJT cells in the market and accelerating the dual breakthrough of industrialization and marketization of HJT technology.

Against the backdrop of PV manufacturers’ continual pursuit of cost reduction and efficiency improvement, HJT cells, with their significant advantages of  high conversion efficiency, low degradation, simplified processes and a clear cost reduction path, align with industry development trends and are expected to lead the next generation of solar cell technology.
