Baofang Jin, chairman, and Tony Zhu, vice president of JA Solar, have hosted a senior delegation from AMEA Power, headed by its own chairman, Hussain Alnowais, at the company’s Beijing headquarters.
AMEA Power is one of the largest developers operating in the Middle East and African markets, with a number of gigawatt-scale renewable energy projects currently in operation, under construction or under development. JA Solar has already supplied 560MW of its high-efficiency modules for AMEA’s Kom Ombo Abydos plant in Egypt, a project expected to be completed in Q3 2024, at which time it will become Africa’s largest single PV project. It will subsequently play a positive role in promoting the diversification of the local power supply structure as well as low-carbon, green and sustainable socio-economic development.
The Beijing meeting saw the two companies discuss opportunities for future collaboration, their relationship viewed as a significant milestone for the Middle East and African region, where the partnership is destined to drive the adoption of clean and sustainable energy over the coming years.
