JinkoSolar has announced that it has been awarded carbon footprint verification by TÜV Rheinland for its Tiger (163mm cell based) and Tiger Pro (182mm cell based) module series.
The verification assessment is based on evaluation of the overall environmental impact of the two series of modules through “cradle to grave” life cycle stages – from raw material processing through to product production, transportation, waste management and final disposal, covering the fields of energy management, life cycle analysis, raw material and supply chain management.
Product carbon footprint is a method for assessing the entire life cycle greenhouse gas emissions of products. In the context of carbon neutrality goals and increased demand for climate-friendly products, all phases of a product’s life have an impact on the environment and this impact needs to be quantified in order to pinpoint areas for potential optimization.
