EPC Shanghai Electric Group has announced that phase B of the 900MWac DEWA phase V at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park (the “DEWA phase V Project”) will enter commercial operation this month. JinkoSolar is the exclusive module supplier for the project, providing its advanced bifacial technology. Installed capacity is approximately 1GW, divided into three phases, each of 356MW.
DEWA Phase V is being developed by a consortium of ACWA Power and the Gulf Investment Corporation through a 25 year PPA based on BOO mode. DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) is the off-taker, while the project company is Shuaa Energy 3 (SE3).
Upon full commercial operation, the project will provide an annual 2,268 million kWh of electricity for the local area, meeting the needs of 270,000 households while eliminating 1.1 million tons of carbon emissions.
