JinkoSolar has announced the supply of its Tiger Neo modules to Indonesia’s Cirata floating project. With an installed capacity of 192MW, the project, contracted by the Powerchina Huadong Engineering Corporation, is a national-level strategic initiative and is also the largest floating PV project in Southeast Asia and the deepest under construction globally. It covers an area of approximately 250 hectares, with the deepest point of the water exceeding one hundred meters. Indonesian President Joko Widodo was in attendance at the grid connection ceremony.

The Cirata project will play an important role in demonstrating clean energy development in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. On completion,  it is expected to generate an annual 300,000 MWh of electricity, sufficient for meeting the electricity requirements of 50,000 households, while eliminating use of some 117,000 metric tons of standard coal.
