Sungrow has announced that it has supplied string inverters for a 20.735MW rooftop PV plant at the headquarters of XPENG, an emerging electric vehicle manufacturer located in China’s Guangdong province.
The plant will generate an annual 21.33GWh of clean electricity, eliminating 17,512 tons of carbon dioxide, with the XPENG factory now having reached 30% of its ultimate target of being 100% powered by renewable energy.
The project is not Sungrow’s first collaboration with an EV manufacturer, the company having previously provided cutting-edge inverter solutions to the Chinese EV startup NIO for a 5MW rooftop PV plant.
