Uttarakhand tenders for 200MW

13 February: The Uttarakhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (UREDA) has issued a tender for 200MW of grid-connected solar power projects in the mountainous North Indian state.

The deadline for bid submission is 15 March 2019.

The move comes as part of the Uttarakhand Solar Energy Policy – 2018.

Maharashtra tenders 138MWac of solar near power stations

13 February: Maharashta's Mahagenco has issued a tender for 138MWac of solar. The scope of the tender is for design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the grid-connected capacity at various locations in the vicinity of Power Stations of MSPGCL on PPP basis including 25 years of operation and maintenance (O&M).

Earlier this month, Mahagenco also released tenders for 450MW of solar spread across projects of 60MW, 75MW, 170MW and 145MW capacity.

MNRE extends module self-certification deadline again

13 February: The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has extended the deadline for the self-certification of solar modules by three months to 31 March 2019 to those manufacturers who had submitted PV module samples to test labs before or on 31 October last year.

The extension has partly arisen due to certain test labs receiving samples on time, but not yet being able to complete the tests or BIS not yet issuing the registration certificates. 

The mandate comes under the Solar Photovoltaics, Systems, Devices and Components Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2017.

Tata Power Solar opens rooftop solar solution in Hyderabad

14 February: Tata Power Solar, Tata Power's wholly-owned subsidiary has launched its complete residential rooftop solution in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Praveer Sinha, CEO & managing director, Tata Power, said: “After the successful launch of residential rooftop solution at Delhi, Mumbai, Ajmer, Bhubaneswar, Gandhinagar, Bengaluru, Cochin, Chennai and Chandigarh we are happy to offer solar rooftop to generate easy and cost-effective solutions to all Hyderabad customers.
