Module manufacturer Seraphim Solar is looking for fresh locations for future manufacturing plants and praises Mexico as both and end-market and a potential production centre.
The company has opened a 300MW facility in the US to serve residential and commercial rooftop clients with a “Made in America” product.
Speaking with PV Tech at Intersolar Europe, Justin Xi, executive general manager at Seraphim Solar said the company was looking at another production plant outside of China, while Mexico had multiple benefits. Chief among these are the cost advantages paired with the ease of access to both the North and South American markets.
Xi also discussed the satellite R&D facility at its new US factory and why they have chosen to target US rooftops, with output from the Jackson, Mississippi production site.
