Insurance specialist, PowerGuard Specialty Insurance Services has created a web portal that is claimed to provide easy access for module buyers to verify the existence of extended warranty coverage of PowerGuard’s PV manufacturer customer base.
PowerGuard said that it currently insures more than 30 million PV modules with a valuation exceeding US$8 billion.

The PowerGuard Portal is said to provide documented evidence that the purchased module’s serial numbers have been reported and that the panels are therefore eligible for coverage, based on the terms of each manufacturer's warranty insurance policy.
