Australia will launch the first round of a programme to stimulate domestic PV manufacturing and support the country’s clean energy goals.

Australia has launched the Solar Sunshot programme, a US$650 million (A$1 billion) investment for the Australian module manufacturing sector.

A total of AU$150 million will be made available for applications focusing on regional decarbonisation of industrial process heat and off-road transportation.

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has committed AU$358 million (US$227.8 million) to new projects during the year from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023, while it has also assigned AU$41.5 million for ultra low cost solar, a new focus since last year.

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has announced a new round of funding to develop and deploy microgrid technologies across regional and remote communities, including a majority of it allocated for microgrid projects in First Nations communities.
