India's MNRE has urged the power regulator to retain separate 'Deviation Settlement Mechanism' rules for solar and wind projects to protect them against increased financial risks.

MNRE confirmed that from 1 June 2026, all solar projects under the ALMM scheme must source modules and cells from Indian manufacturers.

The Indian government has released guidelines for a rooftop solar scheme aiming to install solar systems in 10 millions households.

A developer is required to submit a bid with a minimum capacity of 50MW, while it can also bid for up to 2GW.
