Wanxiang Solar officially opens module assembly facility

Spire has completed the installation of its equipment line at the photovoltaic module manufacturing plant established by Wanxiang Solar, a division of Wanxiang America, located in Rockford, Illinois. The 40,000 square foot plant will employ over 60 local workers.

Roger Little, chairman and CEO of Spire said, “This factory shows the growth of solar manufacturing in the U.S., especially as it relates to foreign manufacturers locating production facilities here in the U.S. The Wanxiang factory will create local jobs to help stimulate the U.S. economy, supporting the growth of the PV industry in the U.S.”
