Chinese manufacturer Jetion Solar has announced that it will provide 65 MW of solar modules to two of Molin Energy’s utility-scale projects in Cordoba, central Argentina. The two projects, named “CB Project” and “VMRS Project”, with a scale of 30MW and 35MW respectively, are the subject of a signed power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Argentina National Grid for a period of 20 years. They will use more than 180,000 pcs of Jetion Solar high-efficiency modules and CTIEC, the world leading contractor, will provide EPC services. Once the project is connected to the grid, it is expected to generate around 100 GWh of clean energy each year, saving some 32,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 81,000 tons.
Mr. Sun Jie, Jetion Solar’s General Manager, commented: “Molin Energy is a long-term partner of Jetion Solar and we already have a couple of successful stories in Europe and Southeast Asia. We are pleased to start working with them in the Argentina market. Latin American markets, especially Argentina and Brazil, are showing great potential for growth and these two projects are proof of the excellent reputation of Jetion Solar in the Latin American market and are an example of the new opportunities generated by the continuous strengthening of cooperation between Jetion Solar and Molin Energy. “
Mr. Yamo Yang, President of Molin Energy, commented, “The CB and VMRS projects are landmark projects in Argentina. Up to the present, Molin Energy has secured more than 500 MW of PV projects in Argentina and we expect those projects to start construction one after another in 2020. Jetion Solar is one of the most well-known companies in the global PV industry, and we fully trust them as our strategic module suppliers. I am very confident that Jetion Solar will deliver its high-quality PV products on time.”
