Masdar has announced JinkoSolar to be the preferred module supplier for its ‘Round the Clock’ (RTC) project in the UAE, the world’s first large-scale, all-weather, gigawatt-scale renewable energy project.

Developed by Masdar in partnership with the Emirates Water and Electricity Corporation (EWEC), the project consists of a 5.2 GW (DC) solar PV power station and a 19 GWh BESS,  providing a 24-hour uninterrupted renewable energy supply, based on Jinko’s N-type Tiger Neo Series 66 Edition modules.

Masdar COO Abdulaziz Alobaidli commented: “As Masdar’s largest project to date, we wanted to select the best partner to ensure the project is of the highest calibre.”

Data indicates that JinkoSolar now ships 1GW of modules every four days to nearly 200 countries and regions, maintaining relationships with over 4,000 long-term customers, the Tiger Neo module having become the world’s best-selling module type, with shipments exceeding 150GW.
