LONGi has become a member of the Association for the Promotion of Renewable Energy (ASOFER), created as an alliance for the promotion of the renewable sector in the Dominican Republic.
“The photovoltaic energy sector is fully developed in the Dominican Republic, which is also becoming a spearhead for the Central American and Caribbean regions. ASOFER and its members are committed to promoting the use of renewables and LONGi, as an important player in the photovoltaic industry, has now added its support to this effort,” commented Rodrigo Sotelo, LONGi’s Sr. Sales Manager Utility for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
ASOFER, founded in 2011, has been working since then to promote and develop the renewable energy sector in the Dominican Republic, encouraging its use and supporting the various sectors involved, including producers, generators, manufacturers and self-generators.
“ASOFER is strengthened by the active participation of its members, and we are proud that every day more local and foreign companies join this national effort to move in a single direction: to achieve the desired Dominican energy transition, based on a model of sustainability and low greenhouse gas emissions,” added Marvin Fernández, the association’s president.
