The 15th edition of Renewable Energy India will take place between the 28th and 30th September, with more than 700 exhibitors displaying their latest products.
As the world’s largest manufacturer of wafers and modules, LONGi has already been present in India for over five years and enjoys an undisputed leadership position with a current market share of over 20%.
The company’s Hi-MO 5 series modules have become the preferred choice for Indian developers, 85% of shipments to the subcontinent being made up of the bifacial version of the product. With bifacial Hi-MO 5 certain to be a key attraction at the show, Pradeep Kumar, LONGi Managing Director for India, commented: “Bifacial is the perfect choice for Indian developers as the technology maximizes energy yield, which is far more critical to achieving better LCOE than just offering high-power modules. Developers here are much more aware of the latest technology than their counterparts in other parts of the world and always want the best. LONGi, with its high reliability and performance, has worked hard for this segment, which has resulted in our success in the Indian market.”
In addition to its traditional solar PV offering, LONGi will also be introducing its hydrogen business for the first time in India. The company began to establish a global presence in hydrogen in 2021, focusing on large-scale alkaline electrolysis equipment, deploying at the same time a “power + green hydrogen” solution to promote its development.
Mr. Lan Cheng, international GM of LONGi’s hydrogen team, added: “With the cost of solar power continuing to fall, green hydrogen is gradually becoming cost-competitive, making low-cost hydrogen production feasible. With zero-carbon green hydrogen based new energy, LONGi will continue to think globally and seek out further opportunities for a sustainable future.”
