The plant, located in Mezőcsát, is the largest in Eastern Europe, with the Hungarian Oil and Gas public limited company, commonly known as the MOL Group, inviting Risen Energy VP Zeng Jianping and colleagues to attend the ceremony to mark its opening.
“Hungary imports 76% of its energy, and reducing the reliance on natural gas and increasing the share of electricity from alternative sources are key goals,” commented Energy Minister Csaba Lantos. “The inauguration of the Mezőcsát power plant, the country’s largest solar farm, is an important step towards achieving these objectives.”
Risen Energy supplied its high-efficiency Titan series PERC modules for the plant. The company has a long-standing presence in Hungary, with its modules, as of 2022, accounting for over 70% of those in use in the country.
