Sineng Electric has announced the signing of a contract with Indian EPC Larsen & Toubro for the supply of 6.25MW of its 1500V turnkey stations for the 700MW Ar Rass independent power plant, one of the largest PV projects to have been tendered as part of Saudi Arabia’s National Renewable Energy Program (NREP).

The project is being developed by a consortium led by ACWA Power, which has signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with the Saudi Power Procurement Company (SPPC).

The NREP, overseen by the Kingdom’s Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources (MEIM), is a strategic initiative under Saudi Vision 2030 and the King Salman renewable energy initiative.

Installed in the Kingdom’s Al Qassim desert area, the inverters will have to withstand high temperatures and sandstorms while advanced safety designs including IP65 and forced-air cooling will ensure stable operation and ongoing security.

“Sineng Electric’s high quality products and services will guarantee the project’s smooth operation and we look forward to a fruitful partnership to create value for customers,” commented company chairman Wu Qiang at the signing ceremony.
