Sineng Electric has announced its participation in Albania’s 140MW Karavasta solar farm, a project developed, built and operated by Voltalia, which stands as both the largest PV plant in the Western Balkans and the country’s first utility-scale plant.

Albania’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, driven by ambitious climate objectives, aims to add an additional 1GW of renewable capacity to position the country as a net exporter of renewable energy by 2030.

The Karavasta project will deploy Sineng’s cutting-edge EP-6250-HC-UD/30 MV turnkey stations and will play a pivotal role in achieving these targets, the Sineng stations additionally enhancing reliability and optimizing ROI for the entire system.

Once commissioned, the plant will generate sustainable electricity to satisfy the annual consumption needs of some 220,000 local inhabitants, while eliminating 29,165 tons of CO2 emissions each year.

Sineng Electric VP Jianfei Li commented:  “The Karavasta solar project is acting as the driving force behind the significant expansion of local energy sources. Sineng is delighted to have been chosen by Voltalia to be part of this transformative initiative, offering technologically superior and environmentally conscious solutions. We firmly believe that this landmark project will set a benchmark for the adoption of renewable energy in the Western Balkans.”
