EPC activities for the project were undertaken by SEPCOIII, an affiliate of Power China, with the 3A independent plant, located in the eastern Saudi city of Jubail, becoming the Kingdom’s first large-scale integrated water desalination project to use solar power as a supplementary power source.
With a total installed capacity of 45.5MW, exclusively made up of Vertex N 700W modules, the project will provide 20% of the plant’s daily energy needs and is expected to eliminate an annual 60,000 tons of carbon emissions.
