African energy company Chariot and French renewables developer Total Eren have again teamed up to develop a solar PV project that will be used to offset emissions from mining operations in southern Africa.

South African mining company Tharisa has signed an agreement with renewables developer Total Eren and African energy company Chariot to build a 40MW solar PV project to power its mining operations as more of the country’s heavy industries turn to solar.

Oil and gas company Chariot has signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of Mauritania to progress with a solar- and wind-powered green hydrogen complex in the country.
