A consortium of EDF Renewables and Korea Western Power Corporation (KOWEPO) has reached financial close on a 500MW solar PV plant in the Sultanate of Oman.

A consortium including Saudi solar developer ACWA Power has inaugurated the 500MW Ibri 2 solar project in Oman, which becomes the country’s largest utility-scale solar project to date.  

The Oman Power and Water Company SAOC (OPWP) has kicked off process for two independent power projects (IPP) with a combined output of 1.1GW.
