For the first month ever, solar PV has made up 25% of monthly electricity generation across the European Union in June 2026.

On Thursday 18 May, New York State reached a new record for solar generation with 3.3GW at noon, according to the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO).

The European Union (EU) generated a record 12% of its electricity from solar between May and August 2022, a report from think tank Ember has revealed.

Yet another power generation record fell in the UK this week, as the country’s solar fleet set a new generation record.
