One of the founders of thin-film PV manufacturer Solyndra has left the company to head a green energy storage company. Kelly Truman, the CIGS firm’s former senior VP, will be the new president/CEO of Deeya Energy.
During his time at Solyndra, Truman led marketing, sales, business development, customer service, government affairs, intellectual property, and corporate communications efforts. He played a key role in each of Solyndra’s major capital raises, in securing its $535 million US Department of Energy guaranteed loan, and in developing the sales pipeline that led to revenues of over $100 million in its most recent fiscal year.

Before joining Solyndra, Truman was VP of marketing at ReVera, a semiconductor metrology tool company. Previous to that position, he worked in a number of managerial and executive positions for Applied Materials and also served as director of advanced research programs while on the research faculty in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Florida.
Truman holds a BS in metallurgical engineering and materials science from the University of Notre Dame, and an MS and PhD. in materials science and engineering from the University of Florida.
