Waaree Energies revealed that it had landed a contract to deliver a 5.75MW turnkey thin-film solar PV plant for Shree Saibaba sugar factory in Latur, Maharashtra, India. No details were given as to a timeline for project completion.
Further to Clenergy’s large-scale ground-mounted PV project being developed by a utility in Dunhuang, the company has announced that it has signed a 15MW contract with an unnamed client towards a project covering four factories located across China. The installations will be in Tianjing Ninghe Modern Industry area Hengshui Economic Development Zone and Haikou National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone. The company will provide a customized PV-ezRack SolarRoof mounting solution, as previously exhibited on a 40MW solar power station developed in Jiayuguan last month.
Canadian solar developer CarbonFree Technology has installed a 543kW PV system on the roof of Canada’s largest apple grower Algoma Orchards, the company has announced. The system, which is operated by BrightRoof Solar, a collaboration between CarbonFree and Connor Clark and Lunn Infrastructure, is installed on the roof of one of Algoma Orchards processing facilities.
Ethiopia will receive solar systems to connect rural areas to the grid, according to 2merkato reports. Chinese and British solar companies have signed agreements with the Ethiopian government to develop PV arrays ranging from 8kW to 130kW to power rural villages.
Infigen has been chosen to construct a 1MW PV plant with integrated storage, the company has announced. Swedish retailer IKEA has connected the 21st solar system at its store in Woodbridge, Virginia, the company has announced. Gehrlicher Solar developed and installed the 504kW PV system, equipped with 2,100 PV panels, on 63,000ft² of IKEA’s rooftop. IKEA has 18 more systems to install at US stores to reach its goal of installing a total of 38MW of systems.
Hawaiian electrical contractor Helix Electric has been supplied with 7.2MW of solar modules from ET Solar, the company has announced. The modules will be used to equip the Port Allen solar farm on the island of Kaua’i, Hawaii. The generated energy will be sold under a 20-year PPA to Kaua’i Island Utility.
