AIKO has announced that its ‘Nebular’ anti-glare lightweight module has been officially selected by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for its 2024 “High-Performance Solar Power Systems” certification program. Among 193 certified solar products, the AIKO module stands out as the onlyone selected under the “non-glass, anti-glare module” category — achieving the highest subsidy tier.

Under the program, eligible residential PV projects in Tokyo using the Nebular module can receive a generous subsidy of up to JPY 80.000/kW (~EUR 0,49/W), demonstrating the government’s strong support for cutting-edge, high-performance solar technology.

Designed to meet the unique needs of Japan’s rooftop solar market, the module balances lightweight design, high efficiency and robust reliability. With a standard footprint of under 2㎡ and weighing only 8,6kg, it is approximately 60% lighter than conventional glass modules — significantly reducing rooftop load. It retains the performance of AIKO’s N-Type ABC technology, achieving up to 22,5% efficiency and a maximum power output of 450W.

Built with a dual-beam frame and a special backside design, the module also features enhanced crack resistance and superior thermal dissipation, ensuring safer performance even in high-temperature environments. Its anti-glare function meets the visual requirements of sensitive locations such as airports, highways and densely built urban areas.

The Nebular module meets stringent Japanese standards for performance, safety and installation and is also fully compatible with existing racking and BOS systems, offering easy integration with no additional design effort.
