Astronergy’s series of ‘solar parties’ reached Germany earlier this month, with CMO Samuel Zhang sharing the company’s plans with attendees during a panel discussion: “Aside from the United States, Astronergy is ready to build another overseas manufacturing base in Turkey and plans to operate more capacity for both the upstream and downstream in countries across the major continents to further consolidate the company’s status as a major force in the world’s green energy sector.”
The panel went on to look at trends related to TOPCon technology, how technology can improve projects, European inventory, product pricing, overseas capacity and supply chain traceability.
“Astronergy is very much on a development path, utilizing our cutting edge technology to adapt to all possible scenarios,” Zhang continued. “Price fluctuation is inevitable with more companies entering the market and technology evolving. Project developers need time to consider the quality and cost performance of new technologies and choose the most appropriate for their needs. Distributors are partly constricted by the wishes of end-users, so we and they need to do more to tell customers about the benefits of the different available technologies.”
“As our CTO, Dr. Alex Hsu, has stated, TOPCon will be the mainstream for the next three to five years and, as a leader in n-type TOPCon PV modules, Astronergy is confident in predicting that conversion efficiency will enter the 27% era in early 2024. Nowadays, technology cost and stability alone is not enough for widespread adoption. From the market and marketing perspective, the cost performance of a product remains the key consideration in deciding whether or not it will achieve a significant market share.”
