JinkoSolar has announced that it has signed the first batch of residential energy storage orders with customers in Thailand, a move which will act as strong support in developing “PV + ESS” solutions to meet residential needs.
JinkoSolar has been the No.1 PV brand in terms of module shipments for two consecutive years in Thailand, one of the company’s most important solar markets in Southeast Asia, providing over 192MW of solar panels for a market share of 38.4%.
The residential energy storage systems meet customers’ needs for off-grid, on/off-grid switching and access adapted with generators. The associated battery covers a storage range of 7kWh-20kWh with a single-phase or three-phase inverter option and offers a warranty of over 6,000 times life-cycle. The qualified IP65 protection level can effectively deal with a high humidity environment and a Pouch battery optimizes energy efficiency by about 10%-15% when compared to the prismatic alternative, providing better thermal performance when used in high-temperature conditions.
The product has been designed to enable fast and flexible installation. The intelligence of “on/off-grid” switching suits the complex and unpredictable operating conditions found in Thailand and, given the self-generation and consumption characteristics of photovoltaic users, a matching energy storage system will foster closed-loop power consumption, satisfying customers’ needs for high-efficiency power generation, flexible configuration and easy installation.
Gener Miao, Chief Marketing Officer at JinkoSolar, commented: “Under Thailand’s new energy development policy, renewable energy cannot provide uninterrupted power generation to meet electricity demand. Therefore, the deployment of energy storage systems has become an essential solution to this problem. We believe that energy storage will also become an indispensable part of the Thai power market in the near future and JinkoSolar will be at the forefront of leading it into a new PV+ stage.”
